Brad spent the early years of his guitar playing life learning the craft from recordings and other musicians, often on stage in real time. It was a messy, high pressure way to pick up skills.
Brad takes all that experience and delivers lessons to intermediate and advanced guitarists who want to learn more about Americana guitar styles, improvisational techniques and live performance. Lessons revolve around specific songs, guitar parts and musical ideas brought in by students, ensuring that they are learning things they really want to focus upon. Videos of each lesson provide students with insights that can be reviewed as needed while learning. Brad wishes he'd had that.
Brad shares his exhaustive knowledge of American folk, country and blues music history and lore with students, placing the music we love in the context of American culture and history. There is truly nothing new under the sun.
